Director of FinanceWe are looking for a hands-on, operationally savvy Director of Finance to join our leadership team. This is not a back-office role — the ideal candidate has thrived in startup or small-company environments, built and refined processes from the ground up, and isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves. You will own the day-to-day financial operations of the company while also contributing to broader operational and administrative functions that keep the business running smoothly.Key Responsibilities:Own the full accounting cycle — general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and month-end closeManage cash flow forecasting, daily cash positioning, and bank reconciliationsPrepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statementsDevelop and maintain internal financial controls and accounting policiesParticipate in annual budgeting and financial planning processes in partnership with leadership and FP&A ManagerCoordinate with tax advisors, and banking partnersTeam & Cross-Functional Leadership:Directly manage and mentor a small finance/accounting teamPartner with operations and sales leadership to provide financial insights that drive business decisionsSupport HR administrative functions including benefits administration, onboarding documentation, and compliance tracking as neededAssist with operational initiatives and special projects at the direction of senior leadershipProcess & Systems:Identify gaps in existing financial processes and implement scalable improvementsMaintain and optimize accounting systems and tools; experience with QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar platforms preferredEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirementsSupport licensing, permitting, and contract administration as needed in coordination with operationsQualifications:Required:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field8–9 years of progressive finance/accounting experienceMinimum 2-5 years in a Controller or equivalent leadership roleDemonstrated experience in a startup or small-company environment (under 200 employees)Strong command of GAAP and financial reporting standardsHands-on experience with bank reconciliation, cash management, and financial close processesProficiency in accounting software and Microsoft ExcelPreferred:CPA or CMA certificationExperience in healthcare, waste management, logistics, or a service-based industryFamiliarity with HR administrative processes and people operationsPrior experience in a Chief of Staff, Director of Finance, or hybrid operational-finance roleTrack record of building finance teams and processes in a growing companyCompensation & Benefits:Competitive salary ($110K- $150K), commensurate with experienceHealth, dental, and vision benefitsOpportunity to grow with a scaling company and directly shape its financial infrastructureCollaborative, no-politics work environment with direct access to executive leadershipA role where your work will have immediate, visible impactMP1 Solutions is an equal opportunity employer.
